Assistant Library Director

Location: Town of Burlington
The Burlington Public Library is seeking that special individual to fill the vacancy for Assistant Director at our very busy library.  If you are an energetic, multi-tasking, “people person” with extensive library experience, you might be the person we seek.  A thorough knowledge of ILS, comfort with office software and publishing software, and knowledgeable with library trends are needed.  Coverage of both Reference and Youth Services Departments, ability to manage the Volunteer Program, work very closely with the Friends of the Library Board and plan programs with a community are a necessity.  Collection development, reader’s advisory, creation of displays and publicity, also included.  This person will work closely with the Library Director on the administrative side- creating policy, writing reports and assisting with planning. This is the ideal job for you if you can do all of this and love the fact that every day is a new adventure!
Requirements: MLS with 3-5 years progressively responsible library and supervisory experience.
35 hours per week includes one evening per week.  This is a full time Union position.
Expected start date: September 5, 2017
