Position performs skilled manual work for the Water and Sewer Division.
Examples of Work:
In accordance with prescribed methods and procedures, performs work related to the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of centrifugal and turbine pumps and controls, including the operation and maintenance of a public utility water treatment facility or sewer pumping station facility.
Assists in a variety of public works projects.
Operates specialized equipment including air compressors and mechanical drives.
Operates and maintains gasoline and diesel engines.
Assists in snow removal operations.
Subject to emergency recall.
Must possess a CDL Class B License with tank endorsement.
Must possess a Hoisting Equipment License 1B and 2A, or obtain within 90 days of appointment.
Must possess a working knowledge of air compressors and mechanical drives.
Must be familiar with basic functions and operation of purifying equipment.
Must have experience in the operation and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines.
Must be able to climb up and down ladders to a depth of 25' below street level.
Must be available for emergency snow removal and able to plow and sand roads.
Pay rate is $24.37/hour. This is a full-time position, 40-hours per week. Position will remain open until filled.
