The Town of Burlington seeks qualified applicants for the position of Operations Manager. Working under the direction of the Director of Public Works, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day operations of the Water and Sewer, Buildings and Cemeteries, Central Maintenance and Highway divisions of the department. The Operations Manager plans, organizes, directs, controls, and monitors the policies, priorities and work programs of the divisions to include division budgets, payroll, assignments, and personnel. This position also oversees operations of the Town’s critical infrastructure.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, public administration, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum 10 years of responsible municipal experience require, five of which in a senior management position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be conversant and knowledgeable of DPW practices and procedures, excellent administrative, management, organizational, communication and customer service skills, as well as ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Valid driver’s license required. Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Massachusetts and valid D3 Water Distribution License desirable, but not required. Must be fully committed to providing service excellence to every person who visits, works, or resides in the Town of Burlington.
This position is full-time, within Grade 15 of the Administrative & Professional compensation plan, and includes comprehensive and generous benefits.
