Substitute Part Time Department Clerk

Primary duties include answering telephone, answering questions pertaining to Council On Aging/Jeanne A Garrett Senior Center and resources and activities available for seniors.  Other duties include copying, filing, computer data entry and word processing. 

Must possess initiative and willingness to participate in a team environment.  Patience and ability to adapt communication style to a diverse population are essential.  Strong computer skills required, with proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Previous experience in customer service and working with the senior population helpful, but not necessary.

This is an on-call per diem position, shifts available are Monday. Tuesday and Thursday 8:00-4:00, Wednesday 8:30-12noon or 12noon-7:00 and Friday 8:30-1:00.  Starting hourly rate is $15.89.  Preference will be given to candidates who are available to work either shift.

Please note:  MA General Laws mandate that any individual having direct contact at any time with either children or senior citizens be subject to CORI screening by the Criminal History Systems Board.  Any conditional offer of employment is contingent upon a successful CORI background check.
