Reporting to the Director of Public Health for the Town of Burlington, the Epidemiologist is responsible for epidemiological and public health support functions for the Tri-Ton Coalition, an inter-municipal shared services program serving the Towns of Burlington, Lexington, and Wilmington public health departments.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:
Investigate communicable disease and chronic disease trends utilizing available data.
Analyze data to help inform prevention and intervention activities.
Present data and recommendations to stakeholders in the community, coordinate community outreach, and update websites as needed.
Assist in developing public health and wellness initiatives to address and prevent disease.
Investigate disparities on how communicable diseases, such as COVID-19, affect different segments of the community.
Support the various health departments with communicable disease tracking and case management through the MA Virtual Epidemiological Network (MAVEN).
Work with municipalities on specific programs formed in response to the Opioid Recovery and Remediation Fund (ORRF)
Collaborate with municipalities on various issues as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications include
Master’s Degree in public health with a specialization in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a closely related field.
At least one year of professional work experience in public health or healthcare (Part time work, internships, and volunteer experience may be used to meet the professional work experience)
Part time position, maximum of 19 hours per week, grant funded position through June 2026 with potential to expand beyond that.
Salary is $50.00/hr
